The Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary - a simple and easy form of prayer - occupies a privileged rank among the prayers recommended by the Church to the Christian people. It is a varied and intense praise of Mary, and a humble request for Her mediation: “Pray for us”. A centuries-old tradition of many religious families is to sing these Litany prayers in honor of the glorious Mother of Christ every Saturday evening. This Litany is at once a moving recognition of Mary’s sovereign sanctity, an act of faith in Her power, and a confident supplication for Her intercession. Lord, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
Let Us Pray. – Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord God, that we Thy Servants may enjoy perpetual health of mind and body and by the glorious intercession of the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, be delivered from present sorrow and enjoy eternal happiness. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
