“Learn from Me that I am meek and humble of Heart.”
(Saint Matthew 11:9)
O Jesus, meek and humble of Heart,
Make my heart like unto Thine.
From the desire to be valued,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire to be loved,
Deliver me...
From the desire to be sought after,
From the desire to be praised,
From the desire to be spared,
From the desire to be understood,
From the desire to be praised,
From the desire to be preferred,
From the desire to be consulted,
From the desire to be approved,
From the desire to be appreciated,
From the fear of being humiliated,
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of being rejected,
From the fear of being rejected,
From the fear of being reviled,
From the fear of being slandered,
From the fear of being accused,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being suspected,
From the fear of being outraged,
From the fear of being belittled,
From the fear of being insulted,
From the fear of being hated,
From the fear of being scorned,
From the fear of being judged
From the fear of being condemned,
From the fear of being excommunicated,
From the fear of being criticized,
From the fear of being mocked,
From the fear of being scorned,
Let Us Pray. – O Jesus, who on this earth was a model of humility and who, by this virtue, earned us infinite merits, please grant us the grace to imitate You and thus attain eternal glory. Amen.
