Our Lord Himself wanted to reveal to us how charming it is to surrender oneself to His Fatherly Heart: “Consider, says the Saviour, how the lilies of the field grow: they do not work, they do not spin; and yet I tell you that Solomon in all his glory was never clothed like one of them. If, then, God is careful to clothe in this way a grass of the field, which is today and tomorrow will be withered, how much more careful will He be to clothe you, O men of little faith? Do not worry, saying: What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, What shall we wear? The pagans worry about all these things. God, your Father, knows what you need. So seek first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things will be granted to you in abundance. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will take care of itself: to each day its own trouble.”
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.
We exalt, Lord, Thy Providence,
And lovingly submit to all Thy decrees upon us.
Let Us Pray. – O eternal God, who does not disdain to cast the eyes of Thy Providence upon us, to guide us, however unworthy we may be, grant us, we beseech Thee, the grace to surrender ourselves so absolutely to all the designs of Thy Providence upon us, during the unstable course of this life, that we may arrive at the immortality of heavenly goods, through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
