Let Us Pray.  – Lord Jesus, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory, for whose salvation Thou hast deigned to take on our human nature and suffer the most painful death. Have pity on their burning longings to see Thee, have pity on their tears of repentance, and by the virtue of Thy Passion, remit to them the penalties incurred by their offenses. Most sweet Jesus, may Thy Blood descend upon these dear souls. May it shorten their time of atonement and may they soon be called to Thee in eternal happiness. Amen.
